About redacted leads

When a lead is closed, the information for the lead (including the activity story) is automatically set to redacted. This means that the lead information is publicly hidden from you, but still active in the Obsleads system for a period of time (in case of chargebacks and disputes).

Why does this happen?

Lead data is redacted to protect the individual from misuse of their personal information. As we know from GDPR, any personal data identifying a customer / individual is seen as personal data.

The process of redacting lead information serves an important purpose in maintaining confidentiality and privacy. By concealing the specifics of the lead, it ensures that sensitive data is protected from unauthorized access and disclosure.

As a part of the GDPR regulations, data should only be storen as long as there's a legal purpose to process it. As soon as the data is no longer needed, it should be 1) redacted and 2) removed. As long as a lead is set to closed, we're sure that you are done processing the lead and the customer data is no longer needed. However, any other data (such as reference number) remains valid and we could easily check the data if you mean anything is wrong, including handling of chargebacks & disputes.

👀 Unless there is marketing consents and rules which differs to normal, all data will be deleted permanently from all systems 180 days from the initial lead delivery. This ensures compliance and protects user privacy, reflecting our commitment to transparency and trust.
